Common Measurement FAQs

  • Updated
  • Unfortunately, we are not able to accept your sustainability report as a replacement for submitting data. In order to build a picture of the carbon and environmental footprint and future reductions within the supply chain, all data needs to be entered in the same format. This standardizes all reporting and the benefit of submitting your data in this format is that you only have to enter it once to report to all your customers on the platform.

Please feel free to use the data directly from your report where applicable to fill in the relevant fields.

  • You can export your data from the Manufacture 2030 platform to CDP.

Hint: You can avoid duplicating your workload if you also submit a report to CDP each year.

First, fill in your Measurements and Reduction Plan sections as you normally would for your customer(s) who use M2030.

We do have Excel templates to use for data collection in place of the platform in special circumstances. If you need us to share one of these templates with you, please contact us.

  • The emission factors in the M2030 platform are default emission factors.

If you have more accurate emission factors more specific to your Company, please let us know and we can take steps to implement this instead. Prior to us uploading your new factor, we have a responsibility to undertake some due diligence with you, to ensure the emission factor is valid, equivalent, and transparent enough to us to ensure we are confident it has been calculated using appropriate methodologies and is applicable for use.

For any further enquiries regarding emission factors please contact: emissionfactor@manufacture2030.com

  • Yes, even if you already have a detailed carbon footprint we still need your measurement data. But having the carbon data in front of you will likely make the submission faster. Please contact us if you have your own emissions factors.

Depending on your customer(s), you may also be asked to provide information on more than just your total carbon footprint; they may also be interested in your increased use of renewables, decrease in waste etc.

  • One of the key benefits of M2030 is getting access to a global support network to help you improve faster.

When investigating or working on projects from Manufacture 2030’s database of hundreds of best practice templates or from your customer(s) collection of best practice projects, you can collaborate with suppliers who are working on or have implemented those same projects.

    To do so simply:

    1. From your ‘Reduction Plan’, access the project you’d like to get advice on
    2. Switch from the ‘Implementation info’ tab to ‘Discussions’, there you’ll find a:
    • Comment box: share your experience, advice or ask a question.
    • Discussion board: your comments will go there once you post them. Here you can read all the previous comments, advice, questions and answers other users have left in the past.

  • If you do not submit the data, Manufacture 2030 will not be able to provide you and your customer(s) with the insight reports about your performance and planned improvements. Your organization will not be included on this list of positive respondents shared by Manufacture 2030 with your customer(s)

  • If you need more time to complete the submission process, please notify M2030 and your customer(s) as soon as possible and before your deadline expires so that we can plan accordingly and do our best to support you.

  • The number of customers utilizing Manufacture 2030 is growing all the time. While one customer may have invited you to join their program on Manufacture 2030, you may be asked by others, or see others you work with listed on the platform.

To add a new customer, follow the instructions on our quick start guide here or click 'start here' below.

There may be a few new questions to answer for each customer (download a buyer specific checklist here), but please do not delete anything you have already submitted. Manufacture 2030 works with the customers to build alignment on questions, so that as much as possible can be reused across multiple customers.

If you need to change the units in which you are reporting, or mask any non-required questions which are not applicable to your site, access the ‘Resource & units’.

  • If you need to change the reporting year please contact us with your account information (Company name and customers you supply).

Please note that the reporting period can only be changed at the organizational level, meaning that if you have multiple facilities, the reporting period would be changed for all of them.
