Your Production output figure is the quantity of product that is manufactured on-site every year. This is irrespective of the customer it is supplied to and can be reported in mass, volume, sales value, number of units, etc. It should represent a measure that influences your resource consumption and emissions.
For a manufacturing site, this will typically be your total final product (for all customers added together). It is used by some reports to normalize other data, for example, to calculate 'water use per unit/tonne of output'.
This is a facility-level figure. The values submitted will only be visible within your organization.

No, the total % allocation does not need to add up to 100%. The percentage allocation you enter should reflect the portion of your facility's total output that is attributed to each customer currently on the platform. Since not all your customers may be on the platform, it's normal for the total to be less than 100%.

When entering data, you provide your facility's total output and the % allocation for each customer. These figures are never shared with your customers. Instead, this information helps us accurately assign emissions to each buyer based on their allocation. This ensures that your customers can view their attributed emissions as part of their Scope 3 reporting without accessing your facility's total production output.

Yes, in most cases, packaging should be included in the total weight as it is part of the product produced. However, in the Scope 3 estimator, you can separate packaging from the product to provide a higher level of detail. This allows for more precise reporting and analysis. If you feel that your packaging makes up a significant proportion of the weight and might make the total output unrepresentative, please feel free to reach out for further guidance.
